The Northwest Automotive Press Association's annual "Mudfest" event was yet another opportunity for the new 2020 Jeep Gladiator to flex its capabilities for admiring critics. By the end of the event, the Gladiator had earned several awards.

Ever since its initial unveiling earlier this year, the 2020 Gladiator has been earning some hot press. The all-new truck from Jeep makes a bold statement in the increasingly popular midsize pickup segment, pairing its unique personality with off-road savvy and legitimate towing and payload capability. Suffice it to say the new Gladiator is catching eyes.

Mudfest was just the latest instance of glowing appreciation from industry critics and journalists. Facing off against 22 models from 14 manufacturers, the Gladiator managed to find its way to the front of the pack and pick up the 2019 Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year award. That's right -- the new 2020 Gladiator took home the top prize.

So, what makes the new Gladiator so special?

Well, Jeep's new truck has a few advantages over other models in the segment. For one, it has removable doors and a removable top -- just like the Jeep Wrangler. It's also the only midsize truck offered with a standard V6 engine. Similarly, the Gladiator is the only pickup in the segment with solid front and rear axles for optimized off-road capability. It truly adheres to Jeep's philosophy of excellent outdoor capability.
